France Joins the War

France joined the American Revolution as an ally in 1778, marking a significant turning point in the conflict. The French government, eager to weaken Britain's power, provided essential support in the form of troops, naval support, and supplies.

This alliance not only bolstered the morale of the American forces but also made the conflict much more challenging for the British. The involvement of France helped to ensure that the fight for independence gained international recognition and support.
