France Joins the War

In 1778, France officially entered the American Revolutionary War as an ally of the colonies. This alliance was a crucial turning point, as France provided significant military support, including troops, naval power, and supplies.

The French government sought to weaken Britain, and their involvement helped to change the dynamics of the war. The combined efforts of American and French forces ultimately led to the success of the revolution and the establishment of the United States.
