Environmental Civics: Protecting Shared Resources

Environmental civics refers to the responsibility of citizens to engage in the stewardship of shared natural resources. This encompasses advocating for sustainable practices, participating in community efforts to preserve ecosystems, and ensuring that environmental policies reflect the collective interests of society.

In recent decades, movements such as Earth Day and the push for climate action have illustrated how civic engagement can influence governmental policies aimed at protecting the environment. Citizens have a vital role in holding their governments accountable to protect resources like air, water, and forests for future generations.
