How Elections Work

Elections in the United States serve as a fundamental mechanism for democratic participation, allowing citizens to influence their government and select their representatives. Federal elections are held every two years, during which voters cast ballots for various offices, including the President, members of Congress, and state officials.

The electoral process is governed by a series of laws and regulations designed to ensure fairness and transparency, including voter registration requirements and the administration of polling places.
