The Latin American Independence Movements were a series of revolutions that took place in the early 19th century, resulting in the end of Spanish colonial rule in much of Latin America. Influenced by the American and French Revolutions, leaders like Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín sought to liberate their nations from colonial oppression.
