What comes after PBS Kids?
The next step for Grades 1–3 (ages 6–9).
Last updated: 11 October 2026
PBS Kids is made for children aged 2 to 8 and is organised by show rather than by school grade, so it does not walk a child through Grades 1 to 3 in order. For a 6- to 9-year-old, a good next step is free, ad-free games and printables arranged by grade and subject. LittleActivity provides that from Pre-K to Grade 10 and is not affiliated with PBS.
What PBS Kids covers
PBS Kids is the non-commercial children's service of the US Public Broadcasting Service. It targets ages 2 to 8 with games and videos grouped by series and by topic, with no grade structure.
What your child is ready for next
- Work arranged by grade, so each week builds on the last.
- Maths, reading and science practised as subjects in their own right, not only through stories.
- Printable pages a child can finish away from a screen.
- Slightly longer tasks that end in something they made or solved.

After PBS Kids: common questions
What age range is PBS Kids for?
PBS Kids targets children aged 2 to 8. Its games and videos are grouped by show and topic, not by school grade, so older children in Grades 2 and 3 often want material that follows their year at school.
Is there a free, ad-free site like PBS Kids for older children?
LittleActivity is free, has no ads and needs no account, and its games and printables are arranged by grade from Pre-K to Grade 10. It is a different kind of site, built around school subjects rather than TV characters.
Is LittleActivity connected to PBS?
No. LittleActivity is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to PBS or PBS Kids in any way. This page exists only to help parents find a next step when their child is ready for one.
