Poems to Read Aloud

Enjoy poetry books and the fun of reading poems out loud.

Poetry books are full of short poems that are fun to say out loud. Many rhyme, and many have a beat you can tap. Here is a little poem: 'Raindrops tap upon my hat, / pitter, patter, pit-pat-pat. ' Say it out loud and tap your knee to the beat.

Poems can be silly, cozy, or full of wonder. Because they are short, you can read one, two, or ten at a time. Try picking a favorite poem and reading it to someone in a fun voice. Poems are meant to be heard.
