Caring for Borrowed Books

Keep library and classroom books in good shape for the next reader.

Borrowed books belong to everyone, so we take good care of them. Keep them away from food, drinks, and pets that like to chew. Turn the pages gently from the corner.

Use a bookmark instead of folding the page or laying the book face down, which can crack the spine. Keep books in a bag when it rains. When you finish, put them in a safe spot so you can return them on time.

For example, Sam keeps his library books on one shelf so he always knows where they are on return day.
