Same and Different: Comparing Two Stories

Tell how two stories are alike and how they are different.

You can compare two stories by asking how they are the same and how they are different. Look at characters, settings, problems, and lessons. Story one: 'A turtle kept walking slowly and won a race against a fast hare who took a nap.

' Story two: 'A small ant kept carrying crumbs, one by one, and filled her home before the storm. ' Same: both have a small, slow character who keeps going, and both teach that steady work pays off.

Different: one is a race, the other is about getting food before a storm.
