The Birthday Party

It was Emma's birthday. She turned seven. She had a party in the backyard. She invited all her friends from school. They played games. They played pin the tail on the donkey. They had a relay race. Then it was time for cake. The cake had seven candles. Everyone sang Happy Birthday. Emma made a wish and blew out the candles. She cut the cake and gave everyone a piece. Then Emma opened her gifts. She got a board game and a book. She got a new jump rope. She said thank you to everyone. She wrote thank-you notes the next day. It was the best birthday ever. Emma will remember it for a long time.
