The Hike in the Rain

We had planned a hike for Saturday. When we woke up it was raining. We had to decide. Go or stay home? We decided to go anyway. We put on rain jackets. We drove to the trail. The path was wet. The trees kept some of the rain off. We walked for two hours. We saw a waterfall. It was full from the rain. It was magnificent. I had discovered that rain does not have to ruin a day. We had a great time. We were wet but we were happy. We had considered staying home. We were glad we had not. The experience of hiking in the rain was different. It was an adventure. The opportunity to try something different had been there. We had taken it. When we got back to the car we were exhausted. We were also proud. We had not let the rain stop us. The hike in the rain had taught us to be flexible. I would never forget it.
