Triangles can be classified based on their sides and angles. There are three types based on sides: equilateral (all sides are equal), isosceles (two sides are equal), and scalene (no sides are equal). Based on angles, triangles can be acute (all angles are less than 90 degrees), right (one angle is exactly 90 degrees), or obtuse (one angle is more than 90 degrees). For example, an isosceles triangle with two sides measuring 5 cm and one side measuring 3 cm can also be an acute triangle if all its angles are less than 90 degrees. Understanding these classifications helps in solving problems and identifying triangles in real life.
